Palmira Maffettone, age 93, a long time Peekskill resident, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015.
She was the widow of Biagio Maffettone, who died in 1989. Palmira was born in Moschiano, Avellino, Italy on November 1, 1922, to Sabato and Maria DelDuca Manfredi. She and her husband were married in Italy in 1945, and came to the United States in 1966. She worked for several years at St. Joseph’s Home in Peekskill. Palmira is survived by her son, Nunzio (Maria) Maffetone, proprietors of Nunzio’s Tailoring and Cleaning, in Peekskill; also 2 daughters, Nicolina (Michael) DeBenedictis, of Montrose, and Anna Maria Maffettone, of Washingtonville. She also has 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by a son, Franco Maffettone.
The Funeral Mass is on Monday, November 9, 2015, at 10AM at Assumption Church, followed by burial at Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 3-8PM at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home.
