Obituary of Gloria P. Ward

Gloria P. Ward, a lifelong Peekskill resident, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at her home. She was 87. Gloria was born in Peekskill on September 6, 1927, the daughter of Fred J. and Florence Belford Bianco. On July 11, 1948 she married Homer Ward at Assumption Church. Mr. and Mrs. Ward were long-time supporters of the Peekskill Lapolla Little League, from its inception in 1964, he, until his death in 1992, and her up until one year ago. Gloria is survived by her son, Kevin and his wife, JoAnne, of Peekskill, her grandson, Kevin Ward, Jr., and his wife, Sara Ward, also of Peekskill, her great grandchildren, Giovanni and Giuliana Ward, a sister-in-law, Priscilla Bianco, and a niece and nephew, Amy Margiotta and Fred J. Bianco III. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Fred “Jay” Bianco Jr. Her Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, May 28, 2014 at 11:30AM at Assumption Church, with Burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home.
