Obituary of Thomas D. Fitzgerald

Thomas D. Fitzgerald, Jr. of Buchanan, NY passed away on April 1, 2015. He was 52 years old. Mr. Fitzgerald worked for NYSDOCS for 30 years. He retired from Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in 2013 as Deputy Superintendent of Security. He then began a second career as a vendor “Fitzy’s Famous Franks” located on Washington St. in Peekskill. He was born on October 9, 1962 in Glens Falls, NY to Thomas D. and Janice Simonetta Fitzgerald. On May 14, 1988 he married Lisa Catano at St. Christopher’s Church in Buchanan, NY. Thomas was a member of the NYSDOCS Emerald Society. He is survived by his wife Lisa Fitzgerald, two daughters; Kylie and Tauri Shea Fitzgerald. Also survived by his mother and stepfather, Janice and Joel Nolin, a brother, Robbie (Pam) Fitzgerald and a sister, Janet Nolin all of So. Glens Falls, NY. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his son, Thomas D. Fitzgerald, III and his father, Thomas D. Fitzgerald, Sr. Visitation is Monday, April 6th, 7 to 9pm and Tuesday, April 7th, 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, April 8th, 10am at St. Augustine’s Church, Ossining. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
