Obituary of John J. Cerrone

John Joseph Cerrone, Sr., of Burnt Hills, NY formerly of Peekskill, NY passed away at home on January 24, 2015. He was 95 years old. Prior to retiring, John worked in construction throughout Westchester. He was born on January 12, 1920 in Ossining to John J. and Maria Pizzarusso Cerrone. He served in the US Army during the WWII Era. On September 7, 1957 he married Angela M. Franchi at the Lutheran Church of our Redeemer. John was a loving family man and friend to all who knew him. John loved the game of golf, working around many country clubs in his earlier years and playing till he could no more, along with being an avid bowler. He was also a life member of Centennial Hose in Peekskill. John is survived by his wife, Angela Cerrone of Burnt Hills, NY and three children; John and Beth Cerrone, Jr. of Ballston Lake, NY, Barbara and John Park of Carthage, NY and Richard Cerrone and John Giorno of Norwalk, CT and three grandchildren; Leah & Kristian Cerrone and Gabriella Park along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. John was predeceased by his parents and 11 siblings. Visitation is Wednesday January 28th, 5pm to 9pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, January 29th, 10:00am at the Assumption Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the East Glenville Fire Department, 433 Saratoga Rd, Scotia. NY 12302
