Mark Nicholas Fytros of Croton-on-Hudson, NY passed away suddenly on August 28, 2014. He was 72 years old. During the 1970’s Mark owned and operated the Center Diner in Peekskill. Prior to retiring, Mark was a Chef at Pastel’s Restaurant in Peekskill for many years. Born in Syros, Greece on August 8, 1942 to Nicholas Mark Fitros and Maria Glinatsi. He served in the Greek Royal Navy and Merchant Marine. Mark was a long time member of the Collabergh-Radium Masonic Lodge, past DDGM of the 1st Westchester Putnam Masonic District and the Masonic Grand Representative to Greece from NY.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen (Kate) Donohue Fytros of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, his mother Maria Glinatsi of Greece, three loving children; Nicholas M. (Joann) Fytros of Little Ferry, NJ, John M. (Melissa) Fytros of Albion, NY and Evan D. Fytros of Peekskill and a step-son, Kyle A. Brown of Charleston, SC. Also surviving are four cherished grandchildren, Emily, Paula, Christopher and Adrien Fytros, a brother John N. Fitros of Greece, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Loretta Donohue and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Nicholas Mark Fytros.
Visitation is Sunday, August 31st , 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Religious Service Sunday evening at the funeral home, 7:30pm, followed by Masonic Services.
As we continue to celebrate Mark’s life, family and friends are invited to Lunch at Table 9 Restaurant, Ansville Circle (92 Roa Hook Rd.), Cortlandt Manor, NY on Monday, September 1st, at 1pm.
