Josephine Wiese, a longtime Peekskill resident, passed away on Sunday at Sky View Nursing Home. She was 88. Josephine was a retired Cafeteria Worker in the Peekskill School District. She was born in Chappaqua on November 6, 1923, to John and Laura Antonucci Astrologo. She attended schools in the Mahopac and Granite Springs area. On December 17, 1955 she married Paul Wiese, Sr. in Peekskill. Her family said that she loved gardening, and was also an avid NY Yankee Fan. Josephine is survived by her children, Geraldine (Richard) Lobus, of Ossining, Vincent (Joanne) Pileggi, of South Gate, CA, and Laura (Michael) Rispoli, of Peekskill. She also has 2 sisters, Laura Russo, of Peekskill, and Libby Quigley, of Mariette, CA; 2 grandchildren, Shana Russell and Lainie Lobus, and 3 great grandchildren, Lauren and Christopher Russell, and Juliette Lasser. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Wiese, Sr., a step-son, Paul Wiese, Jr., 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Visiting is on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington St. Peekskill, NY 10566. The Funeral is on Wednesday at 10AM at Assumption Church, followed by burial at Assumption Cemetery.
