Linda M. Hickey, a Cortlandt Manor resident, passed away on Wednesday at her home. She was 61. Linda was a Nurse/Office Manager for Drs. Hickey and Prestiano in Peekskill, retiring in 2005. She was born in Peekskill on October 2, 1950 the daughter of James and Eleanor Lent Travis, and raised by her mother and also her stepfather, Martin Sarko.

She graduated from Peekskill High School in 1968. On September 28, 1968 she married James Hickey, at St. Christopher's Church. Locally, she was a member of the Christopher Columbus Society Ladies Auxiliary. Linda is survived by her husband, James and her son Edward, both of Cortlandt Manor; also her daughters, Jolene (Vincent "Boo") Vesce, of Peekskill, and Melissa (Derek) Kisslinger, of Cold Spring. She also has 3 sisters and 1 brother, Barbara Small, Glens Falls, Elizabeth Valentine, Cape Coral, FL, Carol (Joseph) Wilson, Wappingers Falls, and James Travis, of Peekskill, and her grandchildren, Gianna, Vincent, Sophia, Kyle, John, and James, and several nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by a sister, Donna Conklin.

Visitation is on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington St., Peekskill, NY 10566. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 10 am at the Assumption Church followed by burial at Assumption Cemetery.
