Robert Roy “Bud” Ruschak of Peekskill passed away on September 1, 2007. He was 81.


Mr. Ruschak was a Foreman for Fleishman’s in Peekskill. He was also employed by George Jensen in Pleasantville and before retiring he worked for the Penny Saver.


He was born on August 29, 1926 in Livingston, Illinois to Andrew and Anna Sekel Ruschak. He graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School in 1944.


Mr. Ruschak served in the US Marine Corp. during WW II. On August 29, 1951 he married Mary Hard at Assumption Church Peekskill.


On October 13, 2006 he was one the first people to be inducted into the Hendrick Hudson High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Robert was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at Mohansic Golf Course, his favorite.


He is survived by his wife Mary Ruschak of Peekskill and two sons; Randy (Christine) Ruschak of Charlotte, NC and Ron (Jessica) Ruschak of Saratoga Springs, NY. Also survived by two sisters Dorothy Johnson of Grosse Pointe, Michigan and Alberta Grogg of Vineland, NJ and four grandchildren, Casey, Jason, Ryan and Carly Rose.


Calling hours are Tuesday 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home. The Funeral Service is Wednesday, 10 am at the Funeral Home. Cremation Private.


In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society.
