Filomena Aversa, a Cortlandt Manor resident, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. She was 85. Miss Aversa was born in Torre Di Ruggiero, Italy on August 27, 1931. She was a skilled Seamstress in Italy, and also in the US, when she arrived here in 1981. Her family said she enjoyed making all of her own clothing, as well as clothing for many family members and friends. She is survived by her sister, Antonia Perruccio, of Cortlandt Manor, and her brother, Francesco Aversa, in Italy. Also her nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Maria, and Domenick Perruccio, a grand nephew, Anthony, first cousins Antonia, Louis and Margaret Cirillo, and several cousins in Canada. She was predeceased by a brother, Domenico Aversa. Visiting is on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Funeral Home. There will be a Funeral Mass on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 10AM at Assumption Church, in Peekskill, followed by Entombment at Rose Hills Memorial Park, in Putnam Valley, NY.
