Obituary of Muriel McGinnis

Muriel McGinnis was born on September 15th, 1918 in Oscawana, New York to Joseph and Lillian Travis. She was predeceased by her husband William, brothers Joseph Jr, and Harold. She has two sisters Jean Sheridan in Florida and Barbara Small in Peekskill. Muriel and her husband Bill move to Queens Village, New York to raise three daughters Carole Stonitsch (husband Peter), Virginia (deceased), and Roberta Ruocchio (husband Hank).  She worked for Burlington Industries for 20 years as an administrative assistant. After retiring she moved to Ridge, Long Island to a senior community where she became involved in senior activities. She loved the gardening, reading, going on trips, and the Mets. She has five grandchildren and  8 great-grandchildren. She spent the last five years of her life at the Buckingham Nursing Home in Norwood, New Jersey. Muriel celebrated her 100th birthday with all those she loved two weeks before her death.

Visitation will be held at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, from 9:00am to 11:00am

Mass of Christian Burial to take place at the Church of the Assumption at 11:30am

Interment to follow at the Assumption Cemetery
