Anthony Sabatino, a longtime Yorktown Hgts. resident, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 at his home. He was 93. Anthony was a retired Veterinarian at Schillers Animal Hospital in White Plains. He was born in Italy on January 9, 1924, the son of Gandofo and Maria Genduso Sabatino. Sabatino earned his Veterinary Degree in Messina, Italy, then worked in animal care in Bologna, Italy. In 1952 he married Serafina Migliore, in Palermo. Among his hobbies was auto restoration. He is survived by his wife, Serafina, of Yorktown Hgts., his children, Maria (Donald) Goodwin, of Brewster, Anthony (Stephanie), Sabatino, of New Rochelle, and Gary (Patricia) Sabatino, of Pleasant Valley; also his grandchildren, Anthony, Gary and Olivia Sabatino, Peter Hanke and Sarah (Koloman) Pasiak, and his great grandchildren, Koloman IV, and twins, Hudson and Maxton. He was predeceased by a sister, Biaggia Anzalone. Visiting is on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 5PM-9PM at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 10AM at St. Patrick’s Church (Stone Church) in Yorktown Hgts. Burial will Follow at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, NY.
