Donata I. (Donna) DiBart of Hartsdale, NY passed away on January 22, 2017. She was 92 years old. Mrs. DiBart had worked as an Administrative Secretary for Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY. Earlier she worked at Beekman Downtown Hospital for a physician and at Columbia Pictures, both in New York City.
She was born on January 11, 1925 in Bristol, CT to Salvatore and Filomena Mulierè Cifichiello. Donna received a Master’s Degree from NYU. On May 14, 1983 she married Joseph R. DiBart at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. Locally, Donna was a parishioner of Church of the Sacred Heart in Hartsdale, a member of the Scarsdale Women’s Club and also the Westchester Italian Cultural Center in Tuckahoe.
She is survived by her husband Joseph R. DiBart of Hartsdale, step-son, J. Richard (Debra Blair) DeBart of New York City and two grandchildren; J. R. DeBart and Blair DeBart. Also surviving is a sister, Margaret DiSanza of West Palm Beach, FL, Sister-in-law Emily Cifichiello of Danbury, CT and brother-in-law Dr. Leonard A. DiBart of Peekskill, NY along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three brothers; Michael S. Cifichello, Vito Cifichiello and James Cifichiello.
Visiting hours are Thursday, January 26th, 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Ballard Durand Funeral Home, 72 East Main St., Elmsford, NY 10523. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 27th, 10:30am at Church of the Sacred Heart, Hartsdale, NY. Entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Donata’s name can be made to the Salvation Army White Plains Corps, 16 Sterling Avenue, White Plains, NY 10606.
