Obituary of Clara Sylvia Carbone

Clara Sylvia Carbone September 29, 1924 – March 2, 2019.  Resident of South Carolina, formally of Peekskill, NY, passed away peacefully at age 94.  Mrs. Carbone was born and raised in New York City and enjoyed working with young teenagers as a teacher’s aide in Peekskill High School for many years.

She was one of three children born to the late Francesco and Sarah Pucci and was the wife of her predeceased husband Anthony Rocco Carbone of 58 years.  She was the sister of her predeceased brother David and loving parent to her predeceased son Anthony.  Clara will forever be remembered by her devoted and beloved sister Gloria of FL and her survived sons James of SC, Frank (and Miriam) of Rye Brook, NY, Robert of Montrose, NY, and David of Peekskill, NY.

She was a loving grandmother to her four grandsons James, Jared, Daniel, and Matthew, and to her six great grandchildren along with her many nieces and nephews and countless other friends and family whom were blessed to have known her.

Clara was celebrated as “grandma” to all the young teenagers she met with while working at Peekskill High School and enjoyed singing in the Catholic Church of the Assumption choir.  Her most joyful times in life were when she spent time with her family and grandchildren and loved making Sunday dinners for the whole family to enjoy.  

Clara touched the lives of many people with her smile, generosity, and all-encompassing love and devotion to her family. 

Friends and family are invited to attend the Visitation held at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill NY 10566, on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 10:00am to 11:00am.

Chapel Service to be held at the Rose Hills Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:30am.
