I would like to share some memories of Marion (Salerno) Stackhouse, my childhood friend and classmate from day one at Franklin Street Elementary School, through Drum Hill Jr High to graduation day at PHS. Marion was, with apologies to Coke-a-Cola, the real thing.
Even at an early age her demeanor and character were always polite, helpful and respectful of other people, traits that were constant and true from grammar school throughout her lifetime. Marion was a popular and loyal friend you could depend upon and a joy to be around.
While her striking stature, dark hair, captivating smile and dark brown eyes drew attention to her, it was her quiet charm and caring nature that shined.
I was fortunate to have had Marion as part of my life during those school day years as we grew up in Peekskill and my memories of her will always remain with me.
I send my sincere condolences and those of our PHS classmates to Marion's family and friends.
