To the family of Vincent nardone. I was a long time acquaintance of vinny having attended elementary, jr high school as well as high school with him. In 4 th grade we were so unlucky to have a teacher named mrs smith. She was probably the meanest teacher to have ever lived. Vinny and I were probably sidekicks as the class cut ups. Mrs smith was always twisting our ears to behave. Too bad there were not child protection rights back then. That same year in 4 th grade my mom passed away on Mother’s Day from failed open heart surgery. I had to return to school after the funeral and for the rest of the six weeks of school all I did was sit in class and cry. Mrs smith would put me in the closet so I would not disrupt the class. Needless to say I never had nice things to say about her.
By the way my name is Gary Schuka. After high school I did not see much of Vinny until I started working for the Postal Service in Peekskill. As I was out and about my deliveries everyday I would run into your dad quite often. I used to think I worked hard but to see Vinny down in trench cover with mud up to ears , I had no doubt they he was working much harder than I . I have retired from the postal service and recently started a school crossing guard job in Peekskill. The person training me had also worked in the highway dept and water dept. so three weeks ago I had asked about your dad( Vinny) he said he had retired and that he was well. Sorryto find out that was not the case. Our families go way back when my dad was young and living on lower south street in Peekskill he always played stick ball in the street with all the nardones including your grand dad tony. Many years later while in elementary school I believe your uncle Tony briefly dated my sister ( Linda Schuka) . And then again many years later I would always see your grandmother Antoinette at the house on Ferris street. And before that on Aberdeen rd. She was always such u beautiful vibrant woman. I think that is enough of my story telling. Again I wish to convey my deepest stmpathies and condolences to the entire remaining nardone family. Sincerely Gary J Schuka. gschuka@icloud.com
