One of my earliest memories of my Uncle Tim was when my brother and I were very young and we were set up on chairs In front of the big window At grandmas house on Christmas Eve and told to keep our eyes open . Lo and behold out of the dark here came Santa walking through the snow with his bag of toys !! Of course we were told we had to get to bed so he could come to our house but we had seen Santa !! Learned much later on, that was my Uncle Tim And he had surprised many a youngster that evening with the magic of Christmas ! He was , is and always will be one of my heroes .
Love you Uncle Tim !

I did not choose Tim Murphy to be my son's Godfather, God did. There are no coincidences with God.
Tim is my cousin and Godfather to my son, Liam.
I have never met a man on this earth with more magnitude of honoring his county, God and service about self, always staying humble.
Tim, a talented celebrity to us and famous world renowned 'the Wall' (Washington DC)as a published songwriter, both lyrics and music.
Governor Pataki nominated his Firefighters Creed Song to be the New York State song for firemen.
Additionally, he wrote songs for the Irish Tenors.
Tim, a Vietnam Veteran was Captain and earning multiple prestigious awards with the Military, Vietnam Vets and West Point. He cared about the others on the Wall. Whether is was ' a brother or a father or a cousin to someone'.
Tim, the Grand Marshall of the St. Patrick's parade in Peeksill, NY wore many hats as he supported the Police, Firemen, Irish culture, American Legion, Vietnam Vets, West Point, Catholic Church and the local townspeople in all their businesses and lives.
He sang Irish songs on the Commander ship in Peekskill that toured the Hudson River to Manhattan as well as weekends at the QuietMan Pub strumming his guitar.
As a little girl I was in Brownies and Girl Scouts.
Tim sang to my Brownie Troup at the Gasho of Japan in Central Valley NY. He let me sing with him!
I sat on a stool next to him in my Brownie uniform and he plays patriotic songs. We sang, "This Land is Your Land" and then he played, "Counry Road".
At other memorials, he played Desperato and Irish classics like Danny Boy and the Water is Wide.
He sang and played fun, laughable tunes with Irish humor and jokes.
He was an Irish storyteller when he talked about a time in life, before he played the most spectacular song. His wife, Patricia would watch him every day, every song and cry every time. Their love was extraordinary, unique and spiritual of course, blessed in heaven. She would hear it over and over again, never growing tired of it. She was a prize. She totally completely cared deeply and he was the happiest man alive because of her. They would look at each other and he wrote songs for her too. IT was the most beautiful love story.
Tim gave me a ride on his motorcycle when I was a kid. I was very nervous so I asked him to drive very slow!
He went so slow I could have walked it. He made me feel comfortable at all times. I felt safe.
Tim is notorious for his music, lyrics and song writing. But I see him as the most humble man who did magnificent honors and miracles on earth.
He was a giver.
Recently, I visited Massena NY to a historical sight, a bench in honor of Tim Murphy. I was proud to call him my cousin. My father and I sat on the bench for a photo. Next time I go I will leave flowers and go to pray.
Tim was a stunning handsome guy who looked like a movie star. Again he was humble, smiled, and pushed the compliments onto others. He was young at heart, joked around and made us laugh. He was masculine and strong yet deeply sensitive and had Murphy tears or joy. He was always an angel.
I will always look for angel signs. I found a shamrock this week and it was the trinity. My son agreed that it was from Tim. When he past away I was visiting his cousin, Sister Loreen, a School Sister of Notre Dame for Easter. She was so very proud of him. He was a legend. She loved him so much so I know the prayers are covered.
Where the road rises to meet you, the sun always at your back and sunshine warm upon your face.
I know you are with your brother Patrick and nephew, Jamie, my grandmother, Auleen and your Grandparents Elva and Fred Murphy who are my great grandparents.
Without a doubt you have are with God with all of them. We believe Tim & Patricia will meet again til infinitity. Heaven is eternal and Love is infinite. It never ends. I guess that's a Tim Murphy legend.
We will always remember your grandson, baby Ben.
I will tell him all about you and angel signs. Until we meet again. Thank you for being the best Godfather to my son and the best cousin to my father Tom. And the greatest hero, angel on earth. Your songs last forever too.
I Love You,
cousin Lisa
PS you are a Angel in my published book, The Angels of Florence :)

I always enjoyed the privilege of being in Tim's company. He always sang my mom's favorite song for her, and ultimately for me after her passing. I'm sure she sought him out once he passed through the gates. I will miss him here though, St Paddy's day won't be the same. Good husband, Patriot, and great musician, American Hero! God Bless!

On Memorial Day in 1989 I finally made my first trip to The Wall. Seeking solace in a pint that afternoon, I heard Pat Garvey sing Tim’s “Waiting at the Wall”. Over the years it was shared with countless Vietnam veterans.
Tim’s words let us cry without shame and let light shine into the dark places. We are forever grateful…

It was an honor to know Tim, who will always be ‘The Bard of the Hudson’ to me. He was along with Joe Brady, one of the first people who welcomed us as new members of the community back in 1994. He quickly became a friend, confidante and the soundtrack of our good times. We were among the lucky few invited to his and Patricia’s beautiful home and basement pub for his legendary Christmas parties.
We will miss his elder statesmanship at the pubs, full of wit, puns, and generosity. He wrote so many memorable songs and brought us all into those performances as only he could. I’m proud Ray O’Hanlon convinced him to join AOH Fighting 69th Division 18 Peekskill, and along with fellow Viet Nam Vet, Ray, the Division awarded Tim the AOH National Veterans Medal for his brave service to the USA in Viet Nam, at the point in his life where he was retiring from his many years of dedication and service at West Point.
He played our parties and Christenings, as well as every Irish Festival we ever participated in; The Peekskill Celtic Fest, The Graymoor Celtic Fest and was the showstopper leading his merry band of musicians through a lively set before orchestrating them and the Massed Pipe Bands for the Firefighters Creed at sunset at the Hudson Valley Irish Fest for 14 years.
Himself, Jack McAndrew, Mike O’Hanlon were ever present at the Rising of the Moon Seisuin at Jimmy Guinan’s for the first part of our time here, as well as the pubs we all came to love and now like those pubs, his spirit is now among those legendary friends, in our hearts and memories.
We now need to cherish each others friendship in their and his memory.
He’d want that.
Condolences to Patricia, and their family.
Thanks, Tim, and Godspeed.

Tim was a beautiful and talented person. He will certainly be missed. We have so many fond memories of him playing his guitar and singing. I always remember him asking when he was playing, “Can you hear me because I can certainly hear you?.” He had a great sense of humor. Patrica we are so very sorry for your great loss.
Love always, Adrianne and Roxy

We were so blessed to have met Patricia & Tim while staying in Peekskill. So many wonderful memories with them, along with our other QM Clan who opened their hearts to us crazy Nebraskans! We witnessed his soft heart and the love and respect he gave and received from others.
He will be missed by many.
Hugs to you, Patricia and your family
