When I think of uncle Hal, I will always remember how he made everything just better. I remember every time I would visit, there would be a new project completed, and it would look great. From the beginnings with the front walkway, to the horseshoe pits, to the fish pond, to Calicoon, he just did everything right. But, as perfect as those projects were, they pale in comparison to the way he made people feel. Always there with that big smile, and the welcoming “Hello, Matthew!”, he was a rock. He always made those trips upstate, trips that you were glad you took. Seems like the end of an era. He has passed the torch, and it’s now our job to be Uncle Hal to the next generation. He will be sorely missed.

Hi Daddy, it was 3 weeks ago today since God called you home to be with him and grandma and grandpa, I know not having them with you weighed heavy on your heart all these years and while we miss you every day I take comfort knowing you are together again and in Gods care.
The forsythia is starting to bloom and your birds are singing, I know how much you loved this time of the year, looking forward to the Zoisa grass to turn green in the neighborhood!
Your love and support for me was unwavering, from my terrible teenage years to the friends we became later in life which was so precious to me. From when a pat on the butt when we were kids meant you loved me to saying it out loud later in life, making our Christmas cookies and Easter eggs, building together what is now my home that will always have your presence and spending our Saturdays at the commons or in the basement will be memories I will cherish forever.
Thank you daddy for all your gifts to us, you taught us to be respectful and strong, you and mom made our family loving and faithful. We will continue your legacy and we could not have asked for anything more. We promise to take care of mom and your ferret !
I wear your fingerprint with my cross to keep you close to my heart , I love you daddy and am forever grateful for your love, support, life lessons and all my memories.

Grandpa,
I am so thankful that you were present in my life as a grandfather. I will never forget the times in elementary school when I would call grandma to come pick me up from school because I was "sick" so I could go to your house & play with the dime machine in the basement. Even though grandma thought I was sick, we both knew I was just there for the snacks and a good nap. I will forever miss walking into your house and seeing you sitting in your chair and saying "booba ba ba boo" to me. I'm not sure when or why that started but those random words will always be your grandpa love language to me. The love you showed grandma is something I will look for in my life. You guys shared such an amazing love (and I only know this from the stories I heard so I'm sure the story gets even better) and you raised 4 amazing, tough, self sufficient, smart and funny kids. You were truly a popular, loveable, tough son of a gun and you are missed so much already. I will be forever thankful for the time I had with you, the people you brought into this world, the Weinborg last name and for Callicoon (my happy place). You are a legend Grandpa and I will love you forever.

Visiting UH & AL’s house as a young kid- walking up the steps and hearing the Met game loud on the tv and such a warm happy Welcome. Always had donuts ready for us :-) The burn barrel in the driveway outside the garage- all the guys hanging around laughing and drinking and smoking cigars. Can’t forget the amazing Koy Fish pond in the backyard that I was always so excited to just stand there and watch them swim. Uncle Hal you will be missed and I appreciate and remember all the fun memories. Love - Mike

When I taste an ice-cold beer on a hot day I will think of my dad. When I hear the Mets play on the radio I will think of my dad. When I watch Little House on the Prarie or a daughter run into her father's arm and is lifted off the ground I will think of my dad. When I eat a hot pretzel I will think of my dad. When I smell old spice, fruit stripe gum, and listerine I will think of my dad. When I hear horseshoes cling and the theme song to Barney Miller I will think of my dad.
