I was deeply saddened to learn of Mr. T's passing. He was one of my favorite teachers in high school, and I am sure many people would say the same. He made chemistry enjoyable, well for me anyway. He was an awesome teacher and a friend to many. When I think of my years at Walter Panas he is one of the first people to come to mind. There are too many stories to tell, but never a day went by where he didn't make us laugh. My sincere condolences go out to his family, I cannot imagine your loss, his life touched so many, his memory will forever live on in so many of our lives.
Regards,

Mr. Paul Trongone was simply the best teacher I ever had. No one could relate to students quite like “”Mister T” (who he famously impersonated each Halloween). He was a different breed of teacher. He related to the students so well, without allowing any of them to take advantage of his “coolness”.
I was a class clown of sorts. But Mr T. countered my wise cracks and put me in my place rather quickly. He would add classic questions to Chemistry pop quizzes such as “who engineered Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon?” He related to the class and made it fun and easy to learn.
The world lost a very unique and special person, and a legendary teacher to thousands of students. He will be sorely missed.

I’m so sorry to hear about Paul’s passing- he was a wonderful person, very caring, very funny, it was always great to be around him. We were classmates in high school and although I moved from the area many years ago, I still have so many fond memories of ‘our group’. My deepest sympathy to his family. God bless.

I have never forgotten my childhood friend. My memories of Paul go back to us being young children growing up in the Bronx as our mothers were childhood friends as well. After the Amirante family followed the Trongone family to Carmel, NY it continued throughout grade school where we began taking trumpet lessons together and joined the Boy Scouts and then into high school where we shared classes and many performances in the music department. Whether engaged in a meaningful conversation or a laugh, he was one of a kind. He was a good man with a good heart and a great sense of humor. My heartfelt sympathies go out to his family. To his wife Sally, his son Paul and his loving mother Blanche and sisters Elena and Gina… I am so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace my dear old friend.

My most sincere condolences to Mr. Trongone's family. He was an amazing teacher and an awesome influence in our lives. He's a big part of the reason I attended SUNY Albany (his Alma mater) and also became a chiropractor. Although I have not seen him very much at all since I graduated from Walter Panas, I have thought of him fondly many a time since and have even talked about him to some of my patients. Rest in peace Mr. Trongone. You will be missed.

Sally,
My deepest condolences to you and your family on the passing of your husband Paul. I believe that both my kids had him at Panas and remember him as a great teacher and person. I hope to make it to the wake if I can. My 91 year old Aunt passed away on the 27th and they’re having a memorial service for her Sunday afternoon in Somers followed by a get together. On Monday I have a fundraiser golf outing for our church that starts in the morning and I’m the organizer so I have to be there. I’ll keep you in my prayers. George Kingsley

My Condolences to the Trongone family. I was one of the nurses who took care of paul at Nothern Westchester Restorative from the day he was admitted until the day I departed from the facility in 2016. While attending to Paul he use to always smile, he would try to teach me chemistry (since I mentioned to him I hated that subject in school, lol), he would always speak highly of his wife and his son. His wife has been nothing short of amazing from the day I met her, his son love his father so much (you could always sense the love when they visited paul).
Paul will truly be missed!.
Best,

Paul was a loving cousin of which i had the honor of spending many years of my life enjoying hunting ,fishing, wine making and spending time with him and his family. His wife Sally, was a devoted wife throughout his life and illness and unwavering and caring mother to their son Paul Jr. The last few years of his life i enjoyed spending time with Paul at the nursing home. He appreciated everything you did to comfort him be it talking, watching a movie or TV show, helping him eat, going for a stroll around the nursing home hallways and grounds or listening to music on Wednesday and Sunday afternoon in the dining room. My visit always ended in a thank you and god bless you and give my regards to your wife and children. No matter how he felt his goodbye to you was always the same.
I will miss him dearly and his memories i will cherish forever.Rest in peace for you deserve it. You fought a hard battle for which there are no winners. God bless you and your family. You will always be in my prayers.

Dear Sally and Paulie, Aunt Blanche, Elena, Gina, Carl, Lainey and Angelina, Words cannot express the sadness I feel. Although my first cousin by blood, Paul is my second brother by relationship. Growing up next door to each other provided countless opportunities for shared adventures and countless occasions for shared and precious memories. Added to that are the many times we gathered at your homes for birthday parties, wine-making parties, Father's Day parties and celebrations of all kinds. Paul is a one-of-a-kind person: talented, intelligent, funny, musical, caring and loving, with the gift to lift all those around him, even while going through the toughest of times. So often I have prayed for a miracle that would have restored him to his former glory, but now, he has been translated to a far greater glory. I know that God's grace will carry us through our grief, and it is my continued prayer that the joy of being family will fill our lives with even more happiness, despite the severe sadness and loss we are all experiencing now. I love each and every one of you and I avail myself to you for anything that can be of assistance now or into the far future. May the Lord bless you with His comfort, grace, peace and strength. All my love, your cousin/nephew, Angelo Sarna.
